When the founder of this mystery box brand came to me, they were at the initial stages of their journey and were full of innovative ideas for the business but needed the right visual identity to show them off.
They were looking for an e-commerce logo design that showcased their brand’s unique style and resonated with their target audience. Being a fashion and beauty mystery box brand, this logo needed to be stylish, versatile, and instantly recognizable. Challenge accepted!
Creating the Perfect e-commerce Logo design
Designing an e-commerce logo design for a mystery box brand is like sizing up the perfect outfit: it has got to be just right, look amazing and say something about the wearer. I started this project with a deep dive into their brand values, target market, and design preferences. Here’s how that all came about:
Understanding the Brand
The new brand should scream trendy, high-quality fashion and beauty products, and should be delivered in a fun and surprising manner. They wanted their new e-commerce logo design to be a reflection of their commitment to style, quality, and the element of surprise. I took the time to understand their vision and what story they wanted to tell through their brand.
Styleboards
After some initial planning and research my next step was to create 3 varied styleboards. Giving the owner the option to choose the one that spoke to them most. This is a crucial step in the e-commerce logo design process to ensure i’m heading in the right direction.
Sketching and Conceptualising
With a clear view of what the brand was all about, I then began putting pen to paper and sketching some ideas. I tried different fonts, symbols, and arrangements. Each sketch brought me closer to defining the brand.
Iteration and Refinement
After some deliberation, I finally reached a design that was modern yet timeless. The e-commerce logo design would feature sleek typography combined with a unique symbol to capture the very essence of the brand. It had the versatility to look great-from mystery box packaging to storefronts.
The Pattern
Apart from just designing the e-commerce logo design, I have also designed a custom pattern that can be used as the signature element of the brand’s visual identity.
Patterns are a part of the powerful branding tools since that gives depth to a brand and makes it cohesive. Here’s how the custom pattern enhanced the overall branding:
Unique and Recognisable
The custom pattern I developed for the brand was inspired by the playful and mysterious nature of their offerings. The design and abstract shapes it used called into play curiosity and excitement.
Versatility Across Mediums
One of the strong points about the custom pattern was versatility. It was meant to look great on everything from packaging and labels to social media posts and promotional materials.
Elevate the Unboxing Experience
The pattern had an important role in elevating the customer unboxing experience. Opening a mystery box was about the thrill of discovery, and our custom pattern added to that excitement.
Results: Creating a Mark
With new branding, the Mystery Box brand could leave a mark in the market.
The cohesive visual identity I created helped them create, establishes a strong brand presence and set the stage for future growth.
